About Kelsie

Kelsie Ortiz is a Clinical Professional Counselor Candidate (PCLC) at Bozeman Therapy & Counseling who works with individuals and couples. She believes healing begins when we feel truly seen and heard, and she uses emotion-focused approaches to help clients explore the feelings and relational patterns getting in the way of the connections they want, with themselves and with the people they love. Her work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment science, offering a safe, compassionate space for exploration, self-understanding, and lasting change.

Healing and self-discovery

Life can bring experiences that leave us feeling anxious, stuck, or disconnected from our authentic selves, or from the people we love. In her work, Kelsie helps clients slow down, explore their emotional world, and understand how past experiences may be shaping the present. Therapy with Kelsie can help you:

  • Understand and shift unhelpful patterns
  • Heal emotional wounds from earlier relationships
  • Build self-compassion and resilience
  • Strengthen communication and emotional connection in your relationship
  • Gain clarity and confidence in navigating life's challenges

Kelsie's therapeutic approach

Kelsie's work integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to explore and process the emotions that promote healing and growth, attachment-based work to understand how early relationships shape current emotional patterns, and evidence-based strategies that offer practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, and self-understanding. Her style is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and focused on creating a space where you feel safe to explore and grow.

Training and experience

Kelsie holds a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota and has completed the EFT Externship, continuing to deepen her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy under the supervision of Cindy Poulsen, LCSW, and founder Julie Menanno, LMFT, LCPC. She has supported clients through anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and relational wounds.

Outside of therapy

Outside of sessions, Kelsie enjoys reading, biking, hiking, and spending time at the lake. She brings warmth, curiosity, and genuine care into every session, helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered in their journey.
